Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kindergarten! My name is Jane Doe and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year! I know our days together will be exciting and full of learning opportunities for all of us. I am committed to creating a positive and successful classroom environment that promotes each student’s desire to achieve. Our classroom is all set up for the beginning of school with lots exciting activities to do! The fun will not begin until you are here, so I will be waiting for you to arrive to begin a super Kindergarten year! Until then, here are a few things you should note...

Please arrive at 8:15 on the first day of school with your child and come straight to our classroom. You will need to go through the kindergarten playground gate to get to room A5. Upon arrival, we will find your child’s name tag and help him/her hang up their backpack. There will be a few minutes for the children to explore our room while we wait for everyone to arrive. Parents, please plan on staying in the room with us for about the first 20 minutes while we make introductions and start our day. During this time, I would appreciate it if you could fill out the sign in sheet letting me know how your child will be getting home.

School ends for kindergarten at 1:45. At pickup time, my class exits through the kindergarten playground gate and walks to benches at the front of the school. If you park your car, please walk over to pick up your child at the benches. If you are driving through the car lane, please put your child’s car seat on the right side and pull all the way forward, staying in your car. The teachers will help your child get into your car. If your child is still learning how to put on his/her car seat belt please park your car in the lot and walk to our room to pick up your child. Also, please make eye contact with me and wave goodbye when you pick up your child so I know they are with you.

Thank you! I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
