General Choir Information

This course will cover the basics of singing and voice production, as well as note reading and performance techniques.  It is intended for those students highly interested in music and singing.  Please find below information on concerts, class rules, and concert attire and student responsibilities.

Concerts will be held in the Ridgeview mp room and will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Students need to wear black slacks or skirt and a white shirt at each concert.  Students will be asked to sit together as a group when they are not singing so as not to be disturbing to the other groups which may be performing.  Students are expected to display courteous behavior at all choral functions.  Performances will be held in conjunction with the band or other school music groups.  Assemblies for the school will be held immediately prior to each concert.  Extra rehearsals may be called if needed when a performance in imminent.  Parents will be notified at least one week in advance.

Students are expected to:

  1. Attend all rehearsals and performances.
  2. Know and memorize all music.
  3. Cooperate at all times with the director and exhibit a positive attitude.
  4. Participate fully while at choral rehearsals—quiet when director is talking and singing when he/she should be.

This is a voluntary course and, as such, it is an honor to be in the choir. Parents will be notified of any problem behavior.  Choir Students are expected to participate in all performances.
