Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Hello Ridgeview Families!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Ridgeview Elementary! I hope that you have had a wonderful summer full of fun. The school year will be starting soon, and I hope you are as excited as we are! All of us here at Ridgeview are ready to welcome our returning students and new families for an amazing year ahead. As we make our preparations for the school year we’d like to provide an overview for all families, so you will know what to expect in the coming weeks.
- First Day of School: The first day of school is Wednesday, August 14th. School starts at 9:05am and students are allowed on campus as early as 8:50am
- District Calendar: The Eureka calendar can be found on our district website HERE.
- Collaboration Days: Staff collaboration days will be on Wednesdays, so Ridgeview students will be dismissed at 2:20 pm every Wednesday during the school year. This includes the first day of school on August 14th.
- Ridgeview Student Handbook: The student handbook can be found on our school’s website HERE.
- Class Assignment Night (C.A.N.): Our PTC will host Class Assignment Night on Monday, August 12th from 5:00-6:00 pm. Class lists will be posted, Frozen In Time will be here with snow cones, and it’s a great time to mingle with other parents and students.
- Powerschool: You will be able to access your student’s class placement and Powerschool Parent Portal beginning the evening of August 12th. You should have previously received information about setting up your access, but if you need help accessing the parent portal, please contact our school office. The Powerschool portal can be found HERE.
- School Supplies: A list of recommended school supplies can be found on our website HERE.
- Free/Reduced Lunch: Lunch and breakfast will be provided free of charge to all students this year. However, families who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program are encouraged to complete the online application HERE.
- Transportation: We strongly encourage families to take advantage of the district’s transportation options. To apply for a bus pass, visit our transportation website HERE.
- Back to School Night: Additional information about your child’s school year will be provided by their teacher at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:00 pm.
- Medication: Does your student require medications during the school day? If so, they will need an authorization form submitted. Authorization forms can be found on our health services webpage. Medications and authorization forms may be dropped off at the Eureka Union School District office (5455 Eureka Road) between 9:00-3:00 on Monday, August 12.
- Staying Up-To-Date: We strongly encourage you to stay up-to-date with school events by reading emails from your child’s teacher(s), our school, and the district throughout the year. These emails will contain important information about upcoming events, activities, and opportunities to engage with your child’s education. Our school website is also updated regularly with general school information.
There are many ways for families to stay engaged with your child’s education. Your support is critical to the success of our students, and we strongly encourage families to play an active role. In addition to working with your child at home and volunteering on campus, consider the following:
- PTC: The Oakhills-Ridgeview PTC is a great way to get involved, and their Facebook page can be found HERE. Our extremely active and supportive PTC is a huge support for our kids, and I encourage you to get involved with them!
- ESF: The Eureka Schools Foundation is an incredible organization that provides critical funding for our schools each year. Please take a look at their website HERE and consider supporting Eureka through them.
Starting August 5th, our school office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. If there are any further questions, please give us a call at (916) 791-3477 or drop by to see us at 9177 Twin Schools Road.
