Beginning of the Year Information
Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
Hello Ridgeview Families!
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Ridgeview Elementary! I hope that you have had a wonderful summer full of fun. The school year will be starting soon, and all of us here at Ridgeview are ready to welcome our returning students and new families for an amazing year ahead. As we make our preparations for the school year we’d like to provide an overview for all families, so you will know what to expect in the coming weeks.
- Class Assignment Night (C.A.N.): Our PTC will host Class Assignment Night on Monday, August 11th from 4:00-5:00pm. Class lists will be posted, Frozen In Time will be here with snow cones, and it’s a great time to mingle with other parents and students.
- First Day of School: The first day of school is Wednesday, August 13th. School starts at 9:05am and students are allowed on campus as early as 8:50am. Wednesdays are staff collaboration days, and school ends at 2:20pm.
- While the Eureka TK-3 schools have minimum days the first week, Ridgeview does NOT have minimum days. School dismisses at 3:30pm on Thursday and Friday.
- How to drop off and pick up at Ridgeview:
- The traffic at school drop off and pickup can be very busy, but everyone gets through in about 15 minutes with a bit of patience. Our only official and supervised drop-off area is on Twin Schools Road in front of the MPR. Please be prepared to have your child exit the car on the passenger side (NOT into traffic) and head to campus. There is NO parking on the school side of Twin Schools Road, and the goal is to keep traffic flowing as much as possible during the busy time by having cars leave as soon as their child has exited the vehicle.
- Please see the following diagram HERE to help you navigate where to drop off and pick up at school.
- Transportation: Our school has very high enrollment this year, and we strongly encourage families to take advantage of the district’s transportation options to limit the traffic during drop-off and pick-up. To apply for a bus pass, visit our transportation website HERE.
- Important update regarding E-scooters and E-bikes:
- ALL E-scooters are illegal for any rider under the age of 16. E-scooters brought to school will be confiscated and held for parent pickup. Class 3 E-bikes are also only legal for riders 16 and up.
- Class 1 and Class 2 E-bikes are legal if the rider is wearing a secure helmet and are on the bike alone. If there is a second rider or if the rider is not wearing a helmet, these are considered illegal.
- Placer County Sheriff and Roseville PD have notified our schools that they are seeing an increase in young students running from them when they try to talk about their bikes. If riders stop and talk with law enforcement, the main consequence would be to call home and have parents come and pick up the bike. But, if the rider runs from law enforcement, their bikes may be impounded, and they could face legal action.
- District Calendar: The Eureka calendar can be found on our district website HERE.
- Collaboration Days: Staff collaboration days will be on Wednesdays, so Ridgeview students will be dismissed at 2:20 pm every Wednesday during the school year. This includes the first day of school on August 13th.
- Ridgeview Student Handbook: The student handbook can be found on our school’s website HERE.
- Powerschool: You will soon receive an email invite to complete the “Annual Update” that is required before school starts (and create a new account if you are new to EUSD). If you need help accessing the parent portal, please contact our school office. The PowerSchool portal can be found HERE. The PowerSchool app code is “SQMM”.
You will be able to access your student’s class placement in your Powerschool Parent Portal beginning the evening of August 11th.
- School Supplies: A list of recommended school supplies can be found on the HERE.
- Free/Reduced Lunch: Lunch and breakfast will be provided free of charge to all students this year. However, families who qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program are encouraged to complete the online application HERE. Completing this form is an important way that we can generate additional funds.
- Back to School Night: Additional information about your child’s school year will be provided by their teacher at Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 20th at 6:00 pm.
- Medication: Does your student require medications during the school day? Students requiring any medication administration at school for the 2025-26 school year will need to have new medical authorization forms filled out and signed by both the healthcare provider and the parent/guardian. This includes students who plan to carry their own inhaler or epinephrine auto-injector while on campus. Health staff will be available on August 11th between 10-2 pm, at the EUSD District Office, to receive medication and forms for students. All medication forms are available on our EUSD Health Services page.
- Staying Up-To-Date: We strongly encourage you to stay up-to-date with school events by reading emails from your child’s teacher(s), our school “Roadrunner Review”, and the district throughout the year. These emails will contain important information about upcoming events, activities, and opportunities to engage with your child’s education. Our school website is also updated regularly with general school information.
There are many ways for families to stay engaged with your child’s education. Your support is critical to the success of our students, and we strongly encourage families to play an active role. In addition to working with your child at home, consider the following:
- PTC: The Oakhills-Ridgeview PTC is a great way to get involved, and their Facebook page can be found HERE. Our extremely active and supportive PTC is a huge support for our kids, and I encourage you to get involved with them!
- ESF: The Eureka Schools Foundation is an incredible organization that provides critical funding for our schools each year. Please take a look at their website HERE and consider supporting Eureka through them.
- Volunteering: Volunteering in your child’s class, on campus, or in the office is a great way to be present and connected with school. Keep a look out for the volunteer sign up Google Form coming soon after school starts.
Starting Wednesday, August 6th, our school office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. If there are any further questions, please give us a call at (916) 791-3477 or drop by to see us at 9177 Twin Schools Road.
